Last year, NèonTeatro achieved a very remarkable success with Magnificat and this is the reason why, once again, it chooses the prestigious Teatro Antico in Taormina to present its new production, Ciatu. The show – which is part of Taormina Arte Festival – is taking place on Friday August 21st 2015 at 9.30 pm (duration 1 h. 30’).
The direction is by Monica Felloni. She supervises her shows in a very singular way. She draws precise lines, she reduces the action until its perfect form, she inspires, she enchants to communicate her own vision of life, which is connected with the one of the interpreters in a unique creative breath.
Ciatu is a combination of theatrical actions full of singing, poetry, images, music and dancing in a soft passionate sequence.
Ciatu is art that embraces the future, from which it extracts essential lymph.
Ciatu is time, space, variety of human beings.
“[…] there are more words in a millimeter of skin
than in a thousand of pages,
writing love on every single touch of body
Ciatu has not linguistic limits, it is an interlace of relationships, it is an experience for actors and audience, it is an exchange of emotions through different languages on stage. The human being is on stage in his variety, with different languages, looking for new words, new gestures, coexisting in relationships made of ordinary and extraordinary specialties.
Ciatu presents a scene-world belonging to the diversity of each actor on stage. This diversity turns into the panting in which art and nature work to generate beauty in every single form of being life. In the same way, the spectator is part of the show that exalts the extraordinary differences of each person; no one is excluded during the
action, everyone has a role until the end of the show.
In Ciatu everything is normal and special at the same time. All twentyseven actors, the spectators and the Theatre are together, a single entity which inspire life, eyes in the eyes, breath in the breath and the action on stage resounds all over the audience without distances or interruptions, giving birth to a reticulum of alive
“[…] to knead the air, to push the sea,
looking for the burning eyes which talk
free words for the one who wants to listen.
Order is a visible disposition into the space
of answers, for the one who wants to see.
There is no order where there is not
diversity. Word of Giordano Bruno.
The show takes place on August 21st.
Actually, Ciatu is an itinerary without ending because it evolves and continues into everyone’s responsibility.
Ciatu is a way of making Theatre, a way of living, a good ready to be assimilated, cultivated, in continuous transformation.
The show will take place at the Teatro Antico of Taormina. Last year, with Magnificat, NÈON was the first company to bring people with disabilities on stage at the famous Teatro Antico, symbol of Sicilian artistic and cultural tradition, full of contaminations of people and languages all over the world. A year later, being at the Teatro Antico, part of Taormina Arte Festival, represents a big step toward the itinerary of evolution and emancipation.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF BREATH
A Brief history of breath is a tale through images, having as plot the adventure of the most essential human and animal function: the breath.
A weekly publication of the “breath steps” – from the prenatal apnoea to the poetic espression – is going to follow the communication campaign of the show until the day of its realisation.
